Athletic Director – Dr. Ryan Dyer
Dr. Ryan Dyer (35) enters his first season as the Athletic Director/Assistant Principal at North Paulding High School. Dr. Dyer was the head men’s basketball coach at North Paulding for the last 8 years. In last year’s campaign he guided his blue-collar team to a 20-8 overall record, state playoff appearance, region runner up regular season, and region tournament runner up. Dr. Dyer led his team to an overall 3.8 G.P.A. in the 2018-2019 season as well. 2018-2019 would also result in Dr. Dyer winning the Paulding County Coach Of The Year and A Finalist Atlanta Journal Constitution Coach Of The Year. Coach Dyer has been instrumental in starting the county’s first ever youth league which has grown to over 600 players. The Dalton Georgia native came to North Paulding from Kennesaw Mountain High School. Coach Dyer worked under one of the most legendary coaches in the state, Jesse Bonner who has over 400 wins in his overall tenure. Dyer served as the Assistant/Associate Head Coach at Kennesaw Mountain High School from 2007-2011. In the spring of 2011 Dyer was named the assistant coach for the acclaimed Georgia North/South Senior All-Star Game! The North All-Star coaching staff also included Jesse Bonner and Sherman White (Miller Grove 6 time state champion). Before Dyer’s arrival at Kennesaw Mountain he served as an assistant coach at Reinhardt College. Dyer worked under TJ Rosene who recently won a national championship at Emmanuel College. Dyer was a standout basketball player at Maryville University in Saint Louis, where he helped guide the Saints to the 2004 SLIAC Conference Championship and NCAA National Tournament. Dr. Dyer earned his Doctoral Degree from California Coast in 2016. Dr Dyer also has earned his master’s degree in 2009 from Troy University and an E.D.S. Specialist Degree from Lincoln Memorial University in 2011. Dyer is married to the former Candice Lumpkin of Dalton, Georgia. The couple has a daughter Ava Bray Dyer (9) and a son Bryce Dyer (6)
